Implement low-stakes formative assessments to guide instruction. 1. Exit Ticket: At end of lesson, ask students to answer 1-3 short questions on an index card (e.g., 'What was the most important concept today?' 'What question do you still have?'). Review before next class to identify misconceptions. 2. Think-Pair-Share: Pose a question. Give students 1 minute to think individually, 2 minutes to discuss with a partner, then call on pairs to share with the whole class. 3. Whiteboard Response: Have all students write their answer to a problem on mini-whiteboards and hold them up. Quickly scan for understanding. 4.
